Pastor John Newton began his ministry at First Church of God in June 2011. He and his wife Debi have partnered together in ministry since 1979.
They love the Lord, love people, and love life! Besides the adventure of serving alongside others at First Church of God, they love their adventures with their family which includes 5 grandchildren. They love the outdoors, are certified SCUBA divers, and enjoy travel. Pastor John doesn’t shop. And Debi doesn’t play golf…yet!
Jerry Ausbrook came to our staff in late 2002 as full-time associate pastor with special responsibilities for pastoral care and small groups. Jerry was ordained by Indiana Ministries of the Church of God in 2000. Jerry has twenty years experience as a lay minister and is now in his eighth year of pastoral ministry. He was member of First Church before going to pastor the Church of God in Saratoga, Indiana. His wife Wilma teaches the Berean Sunday school class. He has two grown children, Ruth and Jerrod.
Kris Kidwell joined us in 2007 as part-time worship leader. Kris also works for Quality Plumbing and Heating. His wife, Melissa, is a teacher’s assistant at Lafayette Park School and is involved in several volunteer activities. They have two daughters, 10 year old Kristyn and 7 year old Kailey.
