 What We Do Every Week:

Being Together and Bringing Friends:

C.H.A.O.S. – Sunday Evening 5:45 – 7:30 (for Middle Schoolers)

HANGTIME - Sunday Evening 5:45 - 7:30 (for Senior Highers)

We have an outreach opportunity on Sunday evenings where they can bring friends into a lighter time of worship and fellowship. This event, called C.H.A.O.S. (Christians Honoring & Adoring Our Savior), is designed to introduce teens to the Christian lifestyle without leaving them feeling like they forgot to study for a pop quiz.
 Growing by Learning
Wednesday Night Bible Study 6:30 - 7:30 (separate studies for Middle Schoolers and Senior Highers)

As they grow we offer an opportunity for them to grow up to be more like Jesus through a Wednesday Night Bible Study. Here students are given in depth instruction in the Word of God. As their knowledge of the Word grows, solutions to the problems they encounter becomes more apparent.

Sunday Morning 9:30 - 10:30 - (separate studies for Middle Schoolers and Senior Highers)

Sunday School is taught from a curriculum which usually has a mix of  social issues, Bible stories and practical application for Christian living.

Finding Our Place in the First Church Family
First Church affords students opportunities to participate and use their talents as part of the adult worship service. If they play and instrument we can use them. If they can sing they should share. If computer skills are their thing we know where to plug them in. Whatever the case God has created each of them to fit into the body in a special way. As pastors and youth leaders our goal is to help each student see God’s Will for his/her life and to help all of them realize their value in His kingdom.

Other Great Opportunities:

Enjoy Big Events:
Along with regular programming we have several events that we attend or conduct on an annual basis:
State Youth Convention in Indianapolis which is a weekend retreat every November that helps students get out of their element for awhile and reconnect with God.
Ski Retreat in January in Michigan fills the same basic purpose for those who enjoy the outdoor life. Breakout for the Middle School Students is a springtime retreat that is simply a blast.
International Youth Convention happens every other year in one of the bigger Cities in the U.S. The next one will be in Orlando Florida in July, 2010.

 Learn and Grow By Serving
World Vision’s 30 Hour Planned Famine: Once a year this service projects teaches young people about the importance of fasting and praying while serving by raising funds for the starving people of the world.
Operation Christmas Child places Christmas gift boxes in the hands of poor children around the world
Work Camp at Hope Hill Children’s Home in Hope, Kentucky takes place every other year
All these serve to reward teens with the blessing of knowing how good you can feel about working hard to help someone other than yourself, perhaps someone you may never meet.
